All-class reunion held at St. Adalbert

An all-class reunion Oct. 12 for former St. Adalbert School in Omaha drew more than 200 people for Mass, a barbecue dinner and tours of the old school, which closed in 1977.

Retired Msgr. Richard Wolbach, who was assigned to St. Adalbert Parish as an associate pastor after his ordination in 1956, concelebrated the Mass with Jesuit Father John Montag, a 1974 graduate of St. Adalbert and currently associate pastor of St. Joseph and St. Frances Cabrini parishes, both in Omaha; Father John Pietramale, pastor of St. Adalbert Parish and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, also in Omaha; and Father Carl Sodoro, in residence at St. Adalbert Parish and chaplain of Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha.

Eight Notre Dame Sisters who taught at the school attended the gathering, as did two religious sisters who graduated from St. Adalbert - Notre Dame Sister Margaret Hickey and Sister of Mercy Pat Guziec, both of Omaha.

More than $1,900 raised during the event was donated to the Notre Dame Sisters Retirement Fund.
