Archdiocesan youth raise more than $12,000
Youth from about 20 parishes across the Archdiocese of Omaha collected a record of more than $12,000 in this year's Souper Bowl of Caring Feb. 4.
Conducted on Super Bowl Sunday, the Souper Bowl of Caring provides a way to encourage youth to fight hunger and poverty in local communities.
"It is evident that the young people in this archdiocese, and all over the country, are very service oriented and concerned about the welfare of others," said Rita Ramos, coordinator of youth ministry. "I think this $12,000 also represents the generosity of the people in the archdiocese."
All donations were given to a charity of each parish's choice.
