Archbishop Elden Francis Curtiss will ordain 17 men from the urban community to the order of permanent deacon at a ceremony Saturday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha.
It is the largest ordination class since the first diaconate ordination 28 years ago, which had 16 men.
The Campaign for Catholic Radio 2005 has achieved its goal of $1 million in pledges over a three-year period.
'On behalf of the entire Spirit 88.9 FM family, I am extremely grateful to all the benefactors and volunteers who worked together to make this happen," said KVSS General Manager Jim Carroll.
'Strong relationships within the Omaha Archdiocese and in western Iowa have enabled Spirit 88.9 FM to achieve remarkable success and prepare for growth." he said.
