Archdiocesan, parish ministries cultivate faith

With the rising number of Hispanic immigrants coming to the United States, the Catholic Church has an obligation to meet their spiritual needs and to help form leaders among them, said Sister Angela Erevia, MCDP, coordinator of Hispanic faith formation in the Archdiocese of Omaha.

'If we don't give them formation and training to be leaders for the church, we may have a crisis in leadership in the church to Hispanics," she said.

Omaha couple touches lives through sponsorship

 Mike and Lisa Brandon say sponsoring children from other countries has not only brought them joy, but also has taught them about loving others and about what it means to be good stewards.

For the past three years, the Bellevue couple has written letters and sent money to two children "“ Michael, an 11-year-old in India, and Rebeca, a seven-year-old who lives in Costa Rica.
