Catholic Charities' executive director to depart from agency in 2007

Dr. Scot Adams, executive director of Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Omaha, has resigned from his position effective March 31, 2007.

Until that time, Dr. Adams will continue to serve as executive director, guiding Catholic Charities' fundraising efforts. The Board of Directors will take the necessary steps and consult with Archbishop Elden Francis Curtiss to determine his successor.

Dr. Adams has served as executive director for the agency for the past 13 years and worked within Catholic Charities for more than 30 years.

Secular Franciscan Order Orientation, Jan. 21

Secular Franciscan Order orientation program is set for Sunday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Cassel Retirement Center, auditorium, 900 N. 90th St., Omaha. The event is to acquaint Catholics with the Order and show how Secular Franciscans bring Christ into their homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, sporting events, and leisure activities.
