Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska annual essay competition is underway. Two $100 scholarships are being offered to 8th graders of Polish descent who will attend Catholic high school in the fall. The essay competition deadline is Friday, April 20. Call Nancy at 331-2409 for information.
Holy Cross School 'Cake and Cabaret' Fundraiser is set for Sunday, April 15, 2 p.m. at Mercy High School's Franey Hall, 48th and Pine, Omaha. The event includes cake, punch, raffle and silent auction. Entertainment includes Nola Jean Pierre, the Creighton Gospel Choir, the Jazz Ensemble and the Holy Cross Joseph Choir. Tickets are $10. Proceeds to benefit Holy Cross School Joseph Choir's Washington D.C. trip to participate in the music festival "America Sings".
Holy Trinity Parish, Hartington, and St. Michael Parish, Coleridge, Garage Sale is set for Thursday, April 26, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Skylon Ballroom, Hartington. Featured items include furniture, tools, large and small appliances, linens and miscellaneous household items. Baked goods, produce, craft items, houseplants and more also will be available.
