Benefit for Women's Care Center of the Heartland scheduled

The Women's Care Center of the Heartland will hold a benefit dinner featuring Archbishop Elden Francis Curtiss Aug. 3 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Center in Omaha.

The event will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. A silent auction will also be held.

The speaker, Teresa Tomeo, will present "The Media and the Culture of Death" at 8 p.m.

Tomeo is an author, syndicated talk show host, motivational speaker and media consultant with more than 20 years of experience.

Parish community to return to renovated church July 28

Archbishop Elden Francis Curtiss will consecrate the new altar at St. John Church on the Creighton University campus during Mass July 28 at 5 p.m.

The consecration of the new altar is part of the celebration, "For the Greater Glory of God - Celebrating Renewal of the Spirit," which marks the return of the parish community to the Main Church for its liturgies.

St. John Church has undergone almost $3 million in renovations over the past two years.















New principals/head teachers announced

The Catholic Schools Office for the Archdiocese of Omaha has announced the newly assigned principals and head teachers for the 2007-2008 school year.

The following is a list of the new assignments:

Katherine Griffen - Principal of Archbishop Bergan Catholic Elementary School in Fremont. Served in the Fremont Public School System from 2006-2007. Prior to that, she was at Archbishop Bergan Catholic High School in Fremont.

Chris Bernard - Principal of Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington.
