Creighton to host Catholic view of stem-cell research forum

Two of the nation's leading health ethicists will speak about the Catholic church's perspective on stem-cell research Sept. 27 during a community forum sponsored by the Creighton University Center for Health Policy and Ethics.

The 6:30-8:30 p.m. event will be held in room 217 of the C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Health Sciences building, located near 27th and Burt streets.

Catholic Charities and Holy Family Church team up to provide emergency food assistance for Omaha's poor

Catholic Charities of Omaha has teamed up with Holy Family Church to provide meals to impoverished individuals and families in the Omaha area.

This service comes at a crucial time, with the recent discontinuation of emergency food services at the Stephen Center.

Catholic Charities began working with Holy Family volunteers Aug. 15 to provide meals for those in need.

Holy Family representatives prepare lunches and distribute them at noon each weekday at Catholic Charities' Juan Diego Center, 5211 S. 31st St.
