Golf tournament to benefit Creighton's Magis Medical Clinic

Creighton University School of Medicine will hold its annual Magis Free Clinic Golf Classic Sept. 14, at Ironwood Golf and Country Club, 12627 Pacific St., Omaha.

All tournament proceeds will support the medical school's Magis Free Clinic. The clinic, organized in 2004 by Creighton medical students, offers free health services on Saturdays to Omaha's homeless, uninsured and underinsured.

The four-person scramble tournament begins at 8 a.m. with registration and the shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m.

Christians Encounter Christ weekend retreats - Oct. 12-14; 26-28

Christians Encounter Christ weekend retreats for men and women will take place in October at the Archdiocesan Conference and Retreat Center, Omaha. Men's weekend is Oct. 12-14 with Father Andrew Sohm, spiritual director. Women's weekend is Oct. 26-28 with Father James Keiter, spiritual director. Cost is $65. The 20th Annual Marian Mass, Rosary and Candlelight Procession is set for Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m. on the Marian Center grounds, Waverly. Celebrant and homilist is Bishop Fabian W. Bruskewitz.
