St. Michael Parish's Fall Festival - Nov. 4

St. Michael Parish's Fall Festival will be Sunday, Nov. 4, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the church, 155 A St., Tarnov. Mass at 11 a.m. Festival includes meal, quilt raffle, big ticket raffle, money window and country store. Menu is Spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, cole slaw, pie and coffee. Drinks sold separately. Cost for dinner is $6 for adults, $3 for kids 10 and under. Storm date is Nov. 11.

Family Ghoul-Fest - Oct. 26

Family Ghoul-Fest is set for Friday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes parish Hall, 2124 S. 32nd Ave., Omaha. Youth activities include guess the goop, pumpkin painting contest, costume contest, bag toss and more. Cost is $5 for the entire family. Bring your own beverages, appetizer and/or dessert. The ShinBones will play at 9:30 p.m. Karaoke and dance all night. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #13080.

A response to Lawler and Risch

In a recent issue of U.S. Catholic, Dr. Michael Lawler and Gail Risch, who work at the Center for Marriage and Family at Creighton University, would like to propose:

Þ A couple on their way to the altar that wishes to get engaged and live together has a public ceremony to that effect.

Þ They may then have sexual relations since this would be a valid marriage.
