Assumption/Guadalupe Choir visit Mercy Villa

The Assumption-Guadalupe Parish in Omaha Youth Choir attended Mass with the Sisters of Mercy, at Mercy Villa Jan. 13. After attending mass and singing, the group enjoyed visiting with the sisters over breakfast. The youth choir is made up of 20, four through eighth graders who regularly sing at Sunday Mass at Assumption Church, under the direction of Deacon John Digilio.

"Sacred Heart Spirituality: Cor Unum Et Anima Una In Corde Jesu" will take place March 11 at the Cathedral Cultural Center, 701 N. 40th St., Omaha. Sister Joanne Fitzpatrick, RSCJ, of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, will explore the vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, the foundress of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and how that vision has adapted over the centuries. Fountain of Life: Images and Metaphors of the Divine Heart will be Feb. 26 at the Cathedral Cultural Center, 701 N. 40th St., Omaha. Wendy Wright of Creighton University's Theology department and author of "Sacred heart: Gateway to God" and "Heart Speaks to Heart: The Salesian Tradition," will explore the history and spirituality of Sacred Heart devotions and how these images help us pray and live more fully. Women's Lenten Morning of Reflection will be Feb. 23, 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Patrick Church, 3400 East 16th St., Fremont. Presentation by Sister Celeste Wobeter, ND, provincial president of the Notre Dame Sisters and former pastoral minister at St. Patrick.
