Millennium Development Goals - Nov. 23

Millennium Development Goals will be Nov. 23, 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 1715 Izard St., Omaha. Hosted by the church's Education Committee. Will focus on the goals to diminish poverty in the world, successes and failures, needs for the future and reflections and discussion of our faith-based responses. Gina Sheehey, activist for the world anti-poverty group RESULTS, will present the program and lead the discussion. All also are welcome to attend Mass at 10 a.m.

Redeeming Beauty: Religious Works of Contemporary Artists is set for Nov. 23, 1-2:30 p.m. at Sunderland Gallery, 3900 Webster St., Omaha. From the Foundation for Sacred Arts in Washington, D.C. Panel discussion on "What is Beauty?" will be led by Reed Armstrong, James Flood, Jan TanCredi, John Labja and Brother William Woeger, FSC.

Third Annual Hoops for Hope, a benefit for Catholic Charities, is set for Nov. 16, noon at Old Mattress Factory, 501 N. 13th St., Omaha. Catholic Charities Service League will hold their 3rd annual event before the Creighton basketball game against New Mexico. Event will feature food, activities for children and an auction for courtside tickets with clubroom privileges for the Creighton vs. Mississippi Valley State game on Dec. 2.
