Regional coordinators expand rural faith formation outreach

Four regional faith formation coordinators appointed this summer are expanding the presence of the Catholic Faith Formation Office in the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Coordinators provide faith formation assistance to rural parishes in their assigned region and answer questions as local representatives of the faith formation office in Omaha, said Father Matt Gutowski, director of the faith formation office.

Job continues to change for victim assistance coordinator

Mary Beth Hanus, victim assistance coordinator for the Archdiocese of Omaha, continues to provide the support her job title implies, but other aspects of her job also are evident in her annual report to the Review Board for the Protection of Children and Young People.

The report for the past fiscal year (July 2008 through June 2009) - shows a decline in the child sex abuse-related reports filed with the archdiocese, with three cases listed. Since February 2004, a total of 54 cases have been referred to Hanus' office.
