Liturgy for soon-to-be Catholics draws hundreds to Cathedral

Dotty Ryck was anxious as she and her daughter, Marci, waited in line to meet Archbishop George J. Lucas at the Rite of Election Feb. 21 in Omaha.

The two quietly discussed who should introduce whom to the archbishop, but "then we kind of got flustered when we met him and didn't introduce either of us," said Ryck, who is going through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process and will be confirmed and receive the Eucharist for the first time at the Easter Vigil at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus.
