Columban priests provide assistance to Chileans

Just as the earthquake in Haiti, the Feb. 27 earthquake and tsunami in Chile have ties to the Archdiocese of Omaha.

Several Columban priests and lay missionaries are among those helping with relief efforts. They include Columban Fathers Derry Healy, Dan Harding and Alvaro Martinez.

Columban Father Christopher Saenz, a native of Bellevue, worked in southern Chile for six years, but is currently pursuing a master's degree at Boston College. He has been in contact with the people of Chile.
