St. Wenceslaus students donate shoes and coats to shelter

After finishing the Newberry Award winning book, "Family Under the Bridge," fourth-graders at St. Wenceslaus School in Omaha were inspired to help poor families in Omaha who are in need - especially during the Christmas season.

Through their campaign, "Shoes for Soles," which ended Dec. 15, students donated 201 pairs of shoes and 159 winter coats to the Siena/Francis House in Omaha.

A truck from Siena/Francis House picked the donations up Dec. 9 and again Dec. 15.
