Retired priest was devoted to the church and its people as a 'quiet servant of the Lord'
Father James Kenny, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Omaha whose two siblings also served in the church, died May 21. He was 85 and had suffered a lung infection and kidney failure.
A funeral Mass was held May 25 at Christ the King Church in Omaha, where Father Kenny served as pastor for 12 years. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
Father Kenny, who was ordained in 1951 and retired in 1996, loved being a priest and loved serving the people of God, his friends said.
