Mass to be offered to end school violence

A Jan. 4, 2012, Mass at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Omaha will be offered to end violence in schools.

The 7 p.m. Mass, open to the public, also will be in memory of the shooting last January at Millard South High School in Millard.

Vicki Kaspar, assistant principal at Millard South and a member of St. Wenceslaus Parish in Omaha, was shot and killed in her school office Jan. 5 by 17-year-old Robert Butler Jr., a student she had suspended.

Butler also shot Principal Curtis Case, who survived, before killing himself.
