Poor Clare Sisters to close jubilee year with Aug. 11 liturgy

The Poor Clare Sisters in Omaha will close a yearlong celebration of their order's 800th anniversary with a Mass Aug. 11 in the chapel of the monastery they are building west of Omaha.

Abbot Michael Liebl of Mount Michael Benedictine Abbey near Elkhorn will be the main celebrant.

Although it is not yet completed, the sisters are happy to invite friends and benefactors to join them for Mass for the first time in their own chapel, said Poor Clare Sister Theresina Santiago.
