Christmas tree harvest: A holiday tradition rooted in faith

A holiday tradition rooted in faith and family continues in Verdigre.

For 26 years, Ken and Norene Pavlik, members of St. Wenceslaus Parish in Verdigre, have led a family adventure to harvest a Christmas tree the old-fashioned way: on Coyote Hill or from other areas near town.

This year, 15 family members from around the area participated in the Pavlik Christmas tree hunt Nov. 24 in a pasture filled with cedar trees about 15 miles southwest of Verdigre.
