Monsignor not going back to school this fall

This fall will be different for Msgr. James Gilg.

"For the first time since I was 5 years old, I’m not going back to school," said Msgr. Gilg, 74, with a smile, as he prepares to step away June 30 from a 49-year career in Catholic education.

Mass to celebrate advancement of Father Flanagan sainthood effort

A bishop and a priest from Father Edward Flanagan’s home diocese in Ireland will be among those traveling to Omaha for a June 18 Mass marking advancement to Rome of the Boys Town founder’s sainthood cause.

Coalition steps up fight against human trafficking

A coalition involving the archdiocese, three orders of religious sisters, nonprofit groups and law enforcement is working on several fronts to stop human trafficking.
