One NSAA district votes to support 'at-birth' gender identity

One of six districts of the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) has voted to support a proposal backed by the state’s three bishops that would formalize the current practice of basing high school sports participation on students’ sex at birth.

District 6, covering the Panhandle into north-central Nebraska, voted 17-9 for the proposal Jan. 6, with one abstention.
