Holy Family Parish’s “Strategies for Facing Life’s Challenges”: Jan. 29, follows the 10 a.m. Mass, approximately 11:15 a.m. at the church, 1715 Izard St., Omaha. Speaker is Sr. Marie Micheletto, RSM. Title of her talk is “Humor and Gratitude – Strategies for Facing Life’s Challenges.”

Telling postcards

Second-graders Sheldon Kight, Mary Penny, and Eleanor Richard at St. Cecilia School in Omaha place postcards in a school hallway as part of a second-grade project of writing to family and friends and receiving postcards back showing different parts of the country. Each of the grade’s 28 students wrote four letters, and thus far, the class has received 33 postcards from 18 states.
