Special Mass marks National Migration Week

About 50 people from various parishes gathered to show support, pray with and for migrants and refugees during a special Stations of the Cross and Mass Jan. 12 at Holy Name Church in Omaha.

Sixth-grader Nathan Davis, left, fifth-grader Braden Mackey, seventh-graders Emma Newton, Ella Daly and Zoe Rauterkus, and kindergartner Sydney Gatzemeyer greet Bo, the therapy dog, Jan. 10 at St. James/Seton School in Omaha.

Suzy Richardson, director of student services at St. James/Seton School in Omaha, plays with her dog Bo, a therapy dog that brings joy and stress relief to students every Wednesday.

Bo helps students with anxiety, other emotions

Every Wednesday morning, Bo roams the halls at St. James/Seton School in Omaha.

But he’s not a student ducking class – he’s a golden retriever/labrador mix eager to offer a friendly greeting to everyone he meets.

Blessing for education

The state-of-the-art building, with a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), is named after the son of principal donors David and Peggy Sokol, who died of cancer shortly after graduating from Mount Michael in 1999.
