“Honoring Our Veterans”: May 2, 2-3 p.m. at New Cassel Retirement Center, 900 N. 90th St., Omaha. Honoring more than 50 veterans at New Cassel and its Franciscan Centre Adult Day Service. Guest speaker will be Father David Reeson, who has received awards and decorations for his dedication to the country and its troops. Free admission. Prayer, games highlight Newman Center gathering

A promise of prayer, food and board games drew about two dozen students and young adults to a gathering with priests and members of consecrated life communities at the St. John Paul II Newman Center near the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus.
