St. Leo the Great Parish’s Lenten Mission: March 5, 6 and 7, 1:30-2:30 p.m. mini mission, and 7-8:30 p.m. evening session at the church, 1920 N. 102nd St., Omaha. Music with Steve Angrisano, stories, prayer and fellowship. Steve also will offer a youth presentation March 4, 7-8:30 p.m. A social will be held after each session.

Children’s Scholarship Fund of Omaha (CSF) Application Help Sessions: Provides need-based scholarships to help children from low-income families attend private or parochial K-8 schools. March 21, 8-10 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. (Spanish only) at St. Thomas More School, 3515 S. 48th Ave.; April 11, 5-7 p.m. at Sacred Heart School, 2205 Binney St.; April 17, 8-9:30 a.m. at St. Pius/St. Leo School, 6905 Blondo St.; April 19, 3-5 p.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul School, 3619 X St. All in Omaha.

Do your chosen media tell the truth?

I’ve been writing about some of the obstacles we face in our nation, specifically obstacles to unity. I would be remiss, then, if I didn’t spend some time focusing on our national media. 
The media and their intermittent difficulty with the truth is something which Pope Francis has addressed from the very beginning of his pontificate.
