One bill signed into law, second passed by Legislature in battle against sex trafficking

Nebraska lawmakers April 18 gave final approval to one bill and Gov. Pete Ricketts signed another into law in efforts to combat sex trafficking.

Senators passed LB1120, which in part restores state licensing and regulation of bring-your-own-drink “bottle clubs.” The 48-0 vote was the last regarding legislation during the Unicameral’s regular 2018 session.

Memorial Day Mass

Memorial Day Mass: May 28, 9 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 14433 Eagle Run Drive, Omaha. All veterans are encouraged to attend the Mass, which will include tributes to all military branches, with patriotic music beginning at 8:45 a.m. A flag raising ceremony also will be held, including a military honor guard, bag pipes and a 21-gun salute and playing of taps. A reception will follow.
