Business group to give faith award

A man or woman who exemplifies Catholic principles in the workplace will be honored by the Catholic Professional & Business Club (CPBC) at its third annual Leading with Faith Award luncheon April 19 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha.
Nominations were submitted by parish priests, business associates, employees and clients or customers.

A few hundred people turned out for the 40th annual Walk for Justice on Good Friday, March 30, calling to mind Jesus’ Passion as being relived through those suffering from injustice throughout the world. The group’s trek included stops at the Douglas County Jail, the Douglas County Courthouse and the Omaha-Douglas County Civic Center. Good Friday prayers

Dressed as their favorite saints, children gather with associate pastor Father Benjamin Boyd and Father Damien Cook, pastor, in front of the St. Joseph altar at Christ the King Church in Omaha March 19 as part of a Sicilian “tupa-tupa” ceremony honoring the Solemnity of St. Joseph. As a sign of devotion to the saint and care for the poor, families adorn the altar with baked goods that are given to Omaha-area homeless shelters and soup kitchens. PHOTO BY BOB KOHOUT
