Students at St. Robert Bellarmine School in Omaha packed in a lot for their Lenten service project: filling 18 new, 40-inch duffel bags with personal items for children going into emergency foster care.
Donated by area Target stores, the bags will be distributed through Omaha-based PromiseShip, which works to preserve and strengthen families.

Encouraged to write a letter as though addressing Trenton Lee Stewart, author of The Mysterious Benedict Society book series, seventh-grader Caleb Hans of St. Pius X/St. Leo School in Omaha won first place in Nebraska for his division in the 25th annual Letters About Literature national writing contest.
