Seminarian parents form friendships based on common bond

Stacey Floersch of Omaha and Diane Leffler of West Point share a wonderful friendship.
Yet they probably would have never met, except for one big thing they have in common: Both have sons studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Omaha.

The three are graduating from Christ the King School after being in the same class for nine years. Block is headed to Westside High, Abboud to Creighton Preparatory School, both in Omaha, and Johansen to Mount Michael Benedictine School near Elkhorn.

Three Xaviers

Students at V.J. and Angela Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha walked four miles around Lake Zorinksy April 25, raising more than $35,000 in the annual HawkWalk for the school’s financial aid fund – up from last year’s $29,000. This school year, a total of $1.2 million in financial aid was awarded to more than a third of the school’s more than 730 students.
