Spirit Catholic Radio’s “Warm up Winter Campaign”: through Dec. 28 donations can be brought to the following locations: Spirit Catholic Radio studios, 13326 A St., Omaha; Lou’s Thrifty Way, 807 S. 13th St., Norfolk; Schmitt’s Clothing Store, 106 S. Main St., West Point, and Bank of Hartington, 229 N. Broadway Ave., Hartington. Items needed are new coats, boots, hats, gloves, mittens and socks for adults and children. Items will be distributed by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Omaha. 

 

Skutt honors former administrators

More than 700 supporters of V.J. and Angela Skutt Catholic High School raised more than $460,000 for student tuition assistance at its annual Angel Flight fundraiser.

During the Oct. 7 dinner and auction, the Omaha school also honored former president Patrick Slattery and admissions director Marie Williamson.

Omaha school honors veterans

St. Wenceslaus School in Omaha marked Veterans Day (Nov. 11) with special ceremonies during the school day.

Students honored more than 100 veterans during a Nov. 9 ceremony at the school. Each veteran was escorted into the assembly by a student and received a poppy bouquet made by the school’s second graders and a handmade thank-you card from first- and second-grade students.
