Charities event raises $425,000
More than 700 people attended the annual Irish Fest for Catholic Charities, raising $425,000 to benefit the Omaha organization.
The evening's special guest was Archbishop George J. Lucas.
This year's theme, "Living the Legacy," celebrated both the 85th anniversary of Catholic Charities serving the Omaha area and the 20th anniversary of the Irish Fest.
Co-chairs for the 2011 event, held March 12 at the Qwest Center in Omaha, were Michon Marcil Abts and Tim Abts, Dr. Richard and Michaela Belatti, Mary Pat and Scott Paul.
Activities included silent and oral auctions, a raffle and performances by several Irish dance and music groups.
