Columban Fathers elect U.S. director
Columban Father Timothy Mulroy, whose has served overseas and in the United States, is the new U.S. director of the Columban Fathers, headquartered in Bellevue.
He was elected in November, will serve a three-year term and be eligible for a second three-year term.
Father Mulroy succeeds Father Arturo Aguilar, now central administration vicar general at the missionary order's international headquarters in Hong Kong.
Ordained in 1995, Father Mulroy served in Japan until 2002, when he returned to the United States and served nine years as director of formation at the Columban International Seminary in Chicago. In recent months, Father Mulroy served in parish ministry at St. Pius X Parish in El Paso, Texas. Founded in 1918, the Missionary Society of St. Columban works to serve and evangelize, promote ecumenical dialogue and foster an awareness of missionary responsibility.
