Two women were recently recognized for their role in supporting women's achievements by Creighton University's Committee on the Status of Women at its annual Founders Week luncheon.

Rachel Bloom and Dr. Gail Jensen each received the 2010 Mary Lucretia and Sarah Emily Creighton Award at the Feb. 11 luncheon at the Harper Center Ballroom on the Creighton University campus in Omaha.

Bloom, a senior in arts and sciences at Creighton, has organized and participated in the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice. A member of the Delta Zeta sorority, Bloom is being honored for creating an environment of dignity and camaraderie for fellow students as a resident adviser on campus.

Jensen, dean of the graduate school and associate vice president for academic affairs, was recognized for her efforts to go above and beyond to create an environment supportive of achievement for women.  Jensen is responsible for the creation of the Office of Online Learning, which supports distance learning.  She also has worked as a team leader for the Higher Learning Commission.
