Business group to give faith award

A man or woman who exemplifies Catholic principles in the workplace will be honored by the Catholic Professional & Business Club (CPBC) at its third annual Leading with Faith Award luncheon April 19 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha.
Nominations were submitted by parish priests, business associates, employees and clients or customers.
Finalists this year from Omaha and their parishes include Doug Alvine, president of Alvine Engineering, St. James; Cathy DeWeese senior workplace consultant, Gallup, St. Margaret Mary; and Matt Heffron, attorney, Brown & Brown, and the Thomas More Society, Mary Our Queen.
They also include Mike Koley, executive director, FOCCUS Inc. USA of the Archdiocese of Omaha, Holy Cross; Jim Steier, CEO, Steier Group, St. Wenceslaus; and Matthew Miller, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Hawkins Construction Co., Omaha, St. Columbkille Parish, Papillion.
Also at the luncheon, guest speaker Paul J. Voss, president of Ethikos and an associate professor at Georgia State University, will discuss ethics, morality, reason and the Catholic view of work.
