Fourth-graders lead coat and sock drive

Fourth-graders led a clothing drive at St. James/Seton School in Omaha last month that brought in about 250 coats and two large, plastic bags of socks for the needy.

The drive helped the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s annual coat drive and the socks went to Siena/Francis House in Omaha, said William Kelly, principal.

Parents also helped, sorting the coats by weight and size, Kelly said.

"It’s good for students to see their parents involved, too," as the importance of service is passed from one generation to the next, he said.
