Holy Cross students earn science award

Two students at Holy Cross School in Omaha are among 24 teams being honored in North America in the 26th annual ExploraVision competition, hosted by the Toshiba Corp. and the National Science Teachers Association.

Fifth-graders Gabe Linneman and Shawn Wascher received recognition for their idea, “Subcleaner 9,000,000,” to use remote-controlled submarines, netting and filters to clean up ocean pollution.

The competition encourages students to develop innovative ideas on how to use a possible future technology to solve a problem.
