Mercy High close to STEAM goal

Mercy High School in Omaha has raised nearly $700,000 of its $1 million goal to renovate its biology, chemistry and physics labs and expand its science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) curriculum.
About $160,000 was raised for the project at the all-girls school’s annual FIESTA dinner and auction Feb. 17, including a matching $75,000 gift from the Dr. C.C. and Mable Criss Memorial Foundation.
“Mercy is fortunate to have donors who understand our educational vision and know their investments will transform students’ lives,” said Sister of Mercy Delores Hannon, president.
Renovations will begin this summer, with plans for updated workspace islands and improved lighting, ventilation, gas, water and electrical infrastructure.
