Polish Heritage Society offers scholarships

Eighth-graders of Polish descent in Omaha-area Catholic schools who plan to attend a Catholic high school can compete for one of up to three $1,000 high school scholarships from the Polish Heritage Society of Nebraska.

To win a St. John Paul II Scholarship, students must write an essay about a Polish-American ancestor and the impact that person had on the student.

Deadline is April 15. Winners will be announced May 7.
