Robotics team wins excellence award

Mary Our Queen School’s robotics team won the excellence award for its division in the 2017 Heartland Regional Robotics Championship Feb. 17-18 in Omaha.

With that win for dedication, devotion and team work, the Robohawks also qualified for the VEX World Championships in Louisville, Ky., in April.

In the high school division, the Knight Shift team from Mount Michael Benedictine School near Elkhorn won the skills championship, was a tournament semifinalist and earned a spot at the World Championships.

V.J. and Angela Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha also was a tournament semifinalist and qualified for the trip to Louisville.
