Scotus Central raises nearly $6,000

About 130 golfers participating in the seventh annual Shamrock Open June 7 helped net nearly $6,000 for new athletic display boards at Scotus Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School in Columbus.

The scramble-style tournament at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha included a barbeque dinner and a variety of prizes.
Over the years, money raised from the tournament has been used for athletic equipment and maintenance, including bleacher maintenance and new windows for the weight room.

Event chairs were Scotus Central Catholic graduates and brothers Nick Puetz of St. Wenceslaus Parish in Omaha and Joe Puetz of St. Patrick Parish in Elkhorn.
