Sixth-graders help foreign artisans

Sixth-grade students at St. Cecilia School raised $2,213 last month for the Pulsera Project in Central America by selling handmade purses and bracelets from Nicaragua and Guatemala, as well as baked goods and candy and holding a raffle.

The Pulsera Project provides fair wage jobs and other opportunities to the needy in Central America. Through their participation, the students in Omaha helped the artisans who made the bracelets and others involved in the project, and learned about the high unemployment and poverty many families face in the region.
