Sophomore is second in national contest

A sophomore at Mount Michael Benedictine School near Elkhorn took second in a national H&R Block "Budget Challenge" simulation and was awarded a $20,000 college scholarship.

Jimmy Severa, a member of St. Stanislaus Parish in Omaha, was one of 66 winners in six simulations that drew a total of 155,000 students from around the country. The competition involved personal finance scenarios in paying bills, saving for retirement and repaying student loans.
