Four Catholic school students from the Archdiocese of Omaha were among the winners of Omaha-based Spirit Catholic Radio’s annual School Folder Art Contest.
Sixth-grader Savannah Short of St. Margaret Mary School in Omaha won first place in the fourth-through-sixth-grade category and sixth-grader Kate Smith of St. Anthony School in Columbus was runner-up.
Seventh-grader Marissa Salber of St. Stephen the Martyr School in Omaha was first in the seventh- and eighth-grade contest and eighth-grader Cecilia Schneider of St. Cecilia School in Omaha was runner-up.
Two students from the Diocese of Lincoln won the kindergarten through third-grade competition.
The station received about 1,000 entries, and the artwork of first-place and runner-up winners in the three categories will be featured on about 25,000 two-pocket homework folders the station gives each August to Catholic elementary school students.
