Students adopt FOCUS missionaries

Students at St. Columbkille School in Papillion received a special visit during the last few days of classes – four of 16 Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionaries from the Archdiocese of Omaha for whom the students had been praying since Lent.

Deacon David Krueger, head of stewardship and faith-raising at the parish, said he and principal James Makey invited students in all 19 classrooms to pray for FOCUS missionaries from the archdiocese – and several of the missionaries came by the school to say "thank you."

The missionaries were Mat Wuebben, a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Hartington, serving at the University of Minnesota-Duluth; Elizabeth Connealy, St. Mary Parish in Bellevue, serving at Wayne State College in Wayne; Jamie Fox, St. Thomas More Parish in Omaha, serving at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks; and Robert Cargill, St. Columbkille Parish in Papillion, serving at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
