Telling postcards

Second-graders Sheldon Kight, Mary Penny, and Eleanor Richard at St. Cecilia School in Omaha place postcards in a school hallway as part of a second-grade project of writing to family and friends and receiving postcards back showing different parts of the country. Each of the grade’s 28 students wrote four letters, and thus far, the class has received 33 postcards from 18 states. Paulette Rourke, principal, said the project is helping expand students’ understanding of the world.
