West Point parish hosts abortion survivor

A woman who survived an attempted saline infusion abortion in 1977 will bring her personal story and pro-life message to Guardian Angels Central Catholic School in West Point.

Melissa Ohden will speak Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in the school’s activities center.

Her book, "You Carried Me," which will be available at the event, recounts her survival, the search years later for her biological parents and her journey from anger and shame to faith and forgiveness.

Sponsored by St. Mary Church in West Point and area Knights of Columbus, the event is free. Refreshments will be available.
