Nebraska bishops honored at dinner

Nebraska's three bishops and a bishop from Iowa were honored Oct. 25 for their support of Spirit Catholic Radio at the station's annual Spirit Celebration Dinner.

Archbishop George J. Lucas, Bishop William J. Dendinger of Grand Island and Bishop James D. Conley of Lincoln were honored with the Spirit Award, as was Bishop Richard E. Pates of Des Moines, for their commitment to the nonprofit radio station's mission to use the airwaves to spread the Gospel message.

More than 600 people attended the event at the Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland, Neb., the largest crowd in the dinner's eight years, said Kelly Miller, the station's marketing and promotions manager.
