Catholic Voice wins general excellence, advertising awards
The Catholic Voice received second place in general excellence among the nation’s largest diocesan newspapers at the Catholic Press Association’s (CPA) annual convention June 1-3 in St. Louis.
Judges said the newspaper’s layout made the paper "a pleasure to read." They also credited its original reporting and mix of feature stories and hard news.
The award marked the third time in the last five years the newspaper has been honored for general excellence, either by the CPA or the Nebraska Press Association (NPA).
The official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Omaha also took second for its media kit, created by John Bosco, senior graphic artist, and Deacon Randy Grosse, editor and general manager.
The newspaper received four awards at the NPA’s convention in April, including first place among the state’s largest non-daily newspapers for feature series, single feature story and front page, and third place for creative ad writing.
