Human trafficking experts spoke at Omaha event
Omaha was one stop along a "Road to Freedom" tour for Matt and Sylvia Friedman, internationally-known experts on human trafficking.
Their presentation July 17 at Roncalli Catholic High School in Omaha included an update on changing global trends and patterns, new responses, and the relationship between human trafficking and slavery.
Matt Friedman is with the Mekong Club in Hong Kong, an organization of business people united against human trafficking. He has presented at the Vatican, and he and his wife are traveling across the United States from June 17 through Aug. 31, presenting more than 100 talks to corporations and organizations.
The free event was co-sponsored by the Coalition on Human Trafficking, the Archdiocese of Omaha and Roncalli Catholic High School.
